Philly Activists Protest EPA

Anti-mountaintop removal (MTR) activists in Philadelphia set up a lemonade stand in front of EPA’s region 3 office yesterday afternoon. But this lemonade was made with “contaminated” water to represent the real dirty water that communities in Appalachia draw from their taps. EPA’s region 3 office is responsible for evaluating MTR permits in West Virginia – including the recently okay-ed permit for a new MTR mine site in Pine Creek WV.
