Statement on Trump Executive Actions on Keystone KXL and Dakota Access Pipeline

The people have spoken — against the KXL pipeline; against the Dakota Access Pipeline; against the trampling of Native American rights; and against the outdated disastrous idea of more fossil fuels.

Donald Trump can try to ignore science, but the science of climate change remains clear: to avoid the worst impacts we need to keep fossil fuels in the ground. There are no alternative facts to that.

The fact is he does not have any sort of mandate. He lost the popular vote and millions of people marched against his ideas; not just in the US, but across the globe. He wants to push the lie that climate change is a hoax, but climate change is very real and a huge threat to our planet and our communities.

We are calling on all of our community, all of our supporters and everyone who marched this past Saturday to stand up for people and planet and fight to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
