The following summary provides a brief description of the employee benefits program available to all regular full-time and part time RAN employees (20+ hours) unless stated otherwise.
Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
100% of the premium cost is covered by RAN for both the Employee and the Employee’s dependents which includes: spouses, children, and domestic partners.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
RAN will also contribute into an Employee’s Health Savings account the amount of 100% of the yearly deductible (prorated over 12 months) for that particular High Deductible Health Plan.
Pretax Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
RAN offers the options of having both a Medical Reimbursement and Dependent Care Reimbursement account as ways to help save on health and daycare expenses with pre-tax dollars that you set aside.
Basic Life Insurance & Long-Term Disability
RAN covers 100% of the Employee’s premium cost for these plans:
- Basic Life Insurance
- Long-Term Disability
Paid Time Off (PTO)

Part time staff members working 20 hours or more a week accrue PTO benefits on a pro-rated basis.
“Cash In-Lieu” Program
A “Cash In-Lieu” program for those who choose to opt out of RAN’s health coverage. This program will pay employees (via the normal payroll cycle) 50% of the cost of either:
A)The lowest applicable health plan based on employee’s alternative coverage
B) The lowest applicable RAN health plan for the employee and their family
RAN recognizes most Federally observed holidays and pays their employees for this time off. The lists of holidays are:
New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King Day
Thanksgiving Day & Day after Thanksgiving
Winter Office Closure (Christmas Eve to New Year’s)
One Personal Floating holiday
Roughly 15 Holidays per Year
Simple IRA Plan
3% matching contribution of an employee’s annual salary after employed for 6 months.
Regular, full-time employees are eligible for a 12-week paid sabbatical after each five years of continuous service.
12 weeks of PAID parental leave
Parental/Guardian Time Off for School Activities
10 paid business days per calendar year to participate in school or day care related activities.
RAN Employees will be allowed paid time off of up to 10 days per calendar year for bereavement leave.
Jury Duty Leave
Request up to 10 days of paid jury duty leave over any one-year period.
All Regular, non-exempt/hourly and exempt/salaried RAN employees who are subpoenaed or otherwise requested to testify as a witness will receive his/her regular base pay for up to 10 days of witness duty.
Time-off for Voting
All employees are allowed a maximum of 2 hours of voting on Election Day
Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault or Stalking leave
Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking may take up to 12 weeks of time off (10 Days Paid) to obtain help from a court, seek medical attention, obtain services from an appropriate shelter, program, or crisis center, obtain psychological counseling, or participate in safety planning, such as permanent or temporary relocation.
Pregnancy Disability Leave
Employees disabled by pregnancy, childbirth, related medical condition that allow them to be eligible for pregnancy disability leave, will be offered 12 weeks via a gross up payment of the disability payments from EDD and the employees normal salary.
