If migration paths are destroyed, we risk losing Sumatran elephants forever.
We must urge snack food giant PepsiCo to clean up its supply chain and stop using Conflict Palm Oil. Without their uninterrupted ancient migratory paths, Sumatran elephants are unable to find mates, inhibiting their ability to successfully breed or to maintain a diverse gene pool. Habitat loss has also led to increased human-elephant conflicts. Herds stray onto cleared lands and come into direct contact with communities and plantation workers––often knocking over houses and supplementing their decreased food supply with local crops or palm oil trees. In return, these gentle creatures are often poisoned, electrocuted or caught in traps. Urge PepsiCo to put the survival of Sumatran elephants above their profits. Add your voice today and help us fight for the Sumatran elephant.
