Ash (she/they) comes from the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma and the Oglala & Sicangu Lakota nations. She is a lifelong Oklahoman and lives on the frontline of the climate crisis and fossil fuel extraction. Ash organized various frontline fights in her community, including ikiyA collective, Norman Collective for Racial Justice, Indigenize OU, & Stop the Plains All American Pipeline. In addition to organizing locally, Ash organized with the Indigenous Environmental Network and continues to assist various Indigenous-led fights across Turtle Island. In 2020, her community successfully ran a campaign to defund the police in Norman, Oklahoma. In 2018, Ash directly confronted Big Oil forces as a nominee for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Before that, Ash organized and fought against both the Red River II pipeline project and the Diamond Pipeline. She received an MA from the University of Oklahoma in 2014 & an MA from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2012. Her specialty is the intersection between political economy, environment, & race with a keen interest in following and disrupting the money trail.
