Climate Vigil in Seattle

On January 31, the U.S. State Department released its final environmental impact statement on Keystone XL. The report was heavily influenced by the oil industry, but it still gave the president everything he needs to reject Keystone XL.

Within 72 hours, over 10,000 of us gathered at an astounding 283 vigils for the climate in 49 states to speak out against Keystone XL.

It was the biggest rapid-response, on-the-ground demonstration of Obama’s presidency. Now, Secretary Kerry will make a recommendation to the President, and the President will make a final decision.

This is an all in-moment for the future of our planet.

More than 78,000 have already signed the Keystone XL Pledge of Resistance, committing to risk arrest, if necessary, to stop Keystone XL and send a message to the President that we must move forward on climate. We must defeat Keystone XL.
