What you wear can endanger the world’s forests, wildlife and indigenous communities. To confirm if you’re doing that, take a look at the labels on your clothes. If you see rayon or viscose, then yes, you might be supporting rainforest destruction.

These fabrics are made of dissolving pulp, a substance derived from wood pulp through a complex and chemical-intensive process. Canopy, a US-based environmental group that campaigns to clean up commodity supply chains, says that annually, more than 70 million trees are turned into cellulosic fabric for clothing through the dissolving pulp process.”
