Fundraise for the Forest!

You can give a gift to the people who are working to protect their traditional rainforest homes through the Protect-an-Acre program (PAA). In return, you will receive a certificate in your name or in honor of someone else as a present to them. PAA gives all of the money you send in to communities in rainforests throughout the world.

Hear what people have to say about the importance of PAA to their communities: http://ran.org/campaigns/protect_an_acre/quotes/

Some fun ways you can  fundraise:

A Holiday Bake Sale -- Make holiday cookies and sell them for a dollar each at lunch or after school.

Crafts for Sale -- Make magnets, buttons, stickers, posters, poems, bookmarks, rainforest animals (out of fimo dough), or other easy craft items and sell them for donations at school or at a local holiday craft fair.

Caroling for the Rainforest -- Adapt some common holiday carols to include the rainforest (like “Rudolf the red-nosed Jaguar”) and go caroling in your community. Pass a hat (or a coconut) afterwards and let people know where the money is going. (Send your adapted lyrics to me at levana@ran.org, and I’ll post them for others to see!)
