This bank is great for collecting change. Use it to save up your Protect-An-Acre money!

You need:

  • A coffee can or potato chip can with a plastic lid
  • A piece of colorful construction paper or "tree-free" paper
  • Colored pens, crayons, glitter
  • Glue and rubber bands
  • Rainforest pictures cut from old magazines

Directions:

Cut the construction paper to fit around the can. Decorate the paper with pictures from the magazine or else with pictures you've drawn yourself. Add glitter if you like. When done, put glue on the back of the paper and carefully attach it to the can. If necessary, put rubber bands around the can to hold the paper in place while the glue dries. Have your parents cut a coin slot in the plastic lid so that you can easily drop in change or dollar bills. Put the lid on the can. Wait for the can to dry completely before using.
