Issues

Over the last twenty years, RAN's mission to protect forests and their inhabitants has evolved and greatly expanded. Just as unchecked resource extraction that displaces Indigenous communities has no place in the 21st century, America's addiction to oil, the destructive march of U.S. agribusiness through the rainforests, and the continued funding of dirty coal by major banks can and must end.

We intend to transform the global economy and create a just and sustainable world. Though our campaigns have distinct goals, they are connected by common threads. Whether you're interested in energy issues or climate change, human rights or sustainable economies, we hope to provide you with an avenue to get involved and make a difference.

Forests

Forests provide habitat for plant and animal species and homes for thousands of Indigenous communities.

Global Warming

The worst effects of global warming can be avoided: If we act now, we can reduce emissions by more than 85 percent by mid-century.

Human Rights

Basic human rights rely on a healthy environment, and the communities that rely on important ecosystems are our best allies in saving them.

Energy

Electrical consumption is the single largest contributor to greenhouse gas pollution in the United States.

Sustainable Economies

Greener business practices create jobs and boost the economy in addition to protecting the environment.
